Group facilitation

Most groups carry questions too large for any one person to hold. What is our work becoming? How do we stay honest with each other under pressure? How do we face what's happening in the world without going numb or splitting apart? Questions that are personal as much as political.

Groups can hold them, but rarely by pushing straight at them. Something has to shift in the room first: the pace, the quality of attention, the permission to say what's actually felt. Supporting that shift is what I do.

Much of this work sits where personal experience meets public stakes: climate, democratic resilience, technological acceleration. Groups trying to change something in the world, discovering that the changing runs through them too.

Examples

With Resonant Bodies Collective I host gatherings and workshops, bringing together embodied practice, mutual aid, and contemplative depth.

At the University of Amsterdam I developed Meeting the Crisis Inside Out, a workshop series on how we relate, personally and together, to social, ecological and technological upheaval.

With Shock Forest Group I facilitate art-based group work with people from many different places, combining improvisation with embodied listening and forms of cultural repair.

How I work

I bring structure the way a sailor brings rope: enough to move with, never so much that it fixes the course. Practically that means careful design beforehand, real responsiveness in the room, and perceptiveness toward what the group can feel but hasn't yet said. People are often surprised by how much becomes workable once it's allowed to be true out loud, and how much difficulty a group can metabolize when no one has to carry it alone.

Underneath all of it is an attention to how power runs through ecological and economic realities, and who ends up carrying the weight of it.

This work is grounded in the same practices as everything else I do: the Aletheia Unfoldment Method, Embodied Thinking, and years of facilitating in classrooms and working in collectives.
